Collaboration Project: Setting up Studio Name and Branding.

For this Collaboration Project I am working with: Saskya Olsen, Kimberly Davis and Jessica Crosby.

To start with we decided to come up with a few studio names ourselves to then feedback to the group and deicide on a theme and image to follow along to then added the final studio name to the design.

At first I thought of either naming our studio after star constellations or animals as I liked the idea of a studio that could be versatile, flexible and infinite. As well as trying to implement a bit of fun into the name.

From there I found two names to stand out to me, theses being Chameleon Studios and Grey Lynx Entertainment Studios. With this I found myself leaning more toward the Chameleon Studios idea and logo/branding designs.

From this as a team we discussed ideas and further possible names. With is we found the chameleon imagery to be something we could work with and make it more playful; there was also mention of still combining that space element into the design and name changes for something more memorable and fun.

With this in mind I came up with a few more names and design ideas that were mentioned in the meeting we had; some of these names were:

- Chamelenaut Productions. (as suggested by Kim)

- Astro Chameleon Studios.

- Space Chameleon Animations.

- Astronaut Chameleon Animations.

 -Deep Space Chameleon Entertainment.

- 88 Chameleon Studios. (number 88 suggested by Saskya in reference to her studio name - Studio 88 - since there are 88 constellations in the night sky.)

- Chameleon Studios 88.

- Chameleon 88 Studios.

- Chamelenaut 88 Productions.

With these designs I kept the name as a placement holder to help work out compositions.

After further discussion with the group we we finally settled on the name Khamaeleon 88 Productions to try and keep inline with the chameleon space theme we had previously talked about; this being that the Chamaeleon spelling being that of the star constellation - suggested by Jess - We also decided that by miss spelling the name it would add a touch of fun and uniqueness to the name; as to not get confused with other studios out there with either chameleon or the number 88 in the name.

From there we talked further about imaging and logos and found we were leaning more towards some of the simpler designs drawn up by Saskya (see below).

Original designs By Saskya Olsen.

We then discussed the ways in which the designs could be altered composition wise as well as incorporate our final chosen name Khamaelon 88 Productions into the logo. Below are some of the layouts I have come up with for our studio.

Here I also thought it be good if we could come up with a 'watermark' to place on our work, so that when we post designs/clips on the main group blog we can add our logo, studio name and the creator of the piece so that the individual gets credited for the work that we post.

After further discussion with the group we decided on the finalized logo and watermarks for our studio.

I also came up with some possible blog layouts and colours to coincide with the above designs but these are subject to change depending on how everyone wishes the blog to look and come across to viewers.

Blog so far (see below). Still requires further development, but is a good base template to work off of and develop further.  Header image is a gif that changes colour to link to the chameleon idea/theme we are working with.
