Collaboration: Worlds Worst.... Brainstorming Ideas and Scenarios.

After receiving our topic for our Collaboration Project I started to mind map possible ideas of what could be 'The Worlds Worst...' . These ranged in jobs, places and supernatural traits.
From there, as a group we set up a teams meeting to go over finalizing the aesthetics of the blog as well as ideas we had come up with for worlds worst. With this we found we all had the common theme of jobs and decided to go down that avenue of thought, here we all agreed to come up with some other job roles and possible scenarios that these job roles could be reenacting in the skit.


Possible scenarios that I came up with; some are more thought out than others and make more sense, where as some seem to have a start and no visible end point.




We also discussed job roles within the group and have assigned as below:

Director: Jasmine Masters
Producer: Jessica Crosby
Media: Saskya Olsen
Researcher: Kimberley Davis

We all had a fair say in the roles we were given; having been through the process of setting up the blog we found out strengths and went through and decided who we though was best for each job and whether we were comfortable with what the role brings. We have also agreed that if it becomes too much for one individual, we can help and support each other out as best as possible.

For todays lecture we looked at structural theories within films. This came looking at the 3 act structure - linear narrative structure - proposed by Syd Field who modernized and wrote about Aristotle's initial theory of narrative structure who stated that  “A whole is what has a beginning and middle and end” Poetics 335BC. Alien (1979) - Film Review.

Directed by Sir Ridley Scott and written from the minds of Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett; Alien (1979) is a film full of jump scares, high suspense and restless curiosity, as stated by Roger Ebert “At its most fundamental level, "Alien" is a movie about things that can jump out of the dark and kill you.” further emphasising the menacing and hostile nature of the foreign organism. Alien (1979) not only pushes boundaries in terms of visual design, but also in subliminal messages hidden within the film that the audience will have to sit a decipher; these include woman empowerment, challenging misogynistic views and the vulnerable qualities that reside in men.
