Collaboration: Hotel Bellhop Animation: Tests and Editing.

Continuing on with the Bellhop Skit, I looked at animating the second scene in the sequence.  This is where Moom Sr enters the hotel and Moom Jr is dancing as he attempts to load the luggage trolley.

To start with I looked at animating Moom Junior's actions first to then be able to use that for Moom Senior reaction.

Focusing on Moom jr animation.

Focused on lifting the suit case.

Focused on animating Moom Senior's walk cycle.

Focused on cleaning up animation on Moom Senior's walk cycle.(removed foot snag seen in Test 3)

Focused on snapping Moom Senior's feet to the ground and adding in arm movement to the walk.

From there I then proceeded to edit the clip in Premiere Pro and After Effects to help with timing and effects. To do this I used after effects to help slow down parts of Moom Jr and looked at adding static effects for a cleaner animation cut. Below is the rendered outcome of the scene.

From there I then started to compile all the rendered scenes done by Kim and started to edit it all together in Premiere with the addition of sound, additional static effects to blend the scenes together and a timecode to mimic that of a CCTV camera footage

For todays lecture we looked at structural theories within films. This came looking at the 3 act structure - linear narrative structure - proposed by Syd Field who modernized and wrote about Aristotle's initial theory of narrative structure who stated that  “A whole is what has a beginning and middle and end” Poetics 335BC. King Kong (1933) - Film Review.

Schoedsack and written by the visionary minds of James Ashmore Creelman and Ruth Rose.   Devised from the ideology of beauty and the beast, it shows Kong to lose sense of the world around him in order to ‘protect’ Ann (Fay Wray), who throughout the film since after meeting Kong is clearly distressed and anxious of Kong’s possessive tendencies.
